When the DB-100 Band Saw was first prototyped, it was designed to allow just what you describe. Wine bottles, and others, will fit under the saw - no problem. However, you will find that when cutting bottles, you have to pay extra attention to getting coolant to the bottom section of glass. (The top section will get plenty of coolant from the drip guide.) Either turn up the water flow, or add a squeeze bottle of water to the bottom directly. And, remember, you are now cutting two thicknesses of glass. VERY THICK GLASS, as well. Take your time.

: I am looking for a saw or tool that will cut a bottle lengthwise. I own a bandsaw but the depth of the cutting surface is only about 1/2 inch. Not good for cutting a bottle that is 3" in diameter. Any suggestions?
