: : : what is the best way to apply brass rod trim to
: : : glass? I tried copper foiling the edges and then
: : : soldering the brass rod over that - total disaster.
: : : I'd appreciate any tips you may have out there

: : Hi, Did you tin the brass rod?

: Hi - thanks for responding - no, should I have tinned it separately first?

Yes, tin the foiled piece of glass and the brass rod...then solder the rod to the glass. apply small amounts of solder then build more as you go. A flat bead will be easier.
